THINK, DISCUSS, LIVE: These questions are great for personal reflection, group discussion, or both. They’re meant to help you grow in your faith, deepen your connection with your Jesus friends, and live it out in the world around you.
What cultural battles do you see happening right now that clearly push against the truth of God’s Word? Discuss and or make a list of examples.
Where do you personally sense an unseen battle right now—in your thoughts, fears, or beliefs? How does remembering who you know (Jesus), not just what you know, change the way you face it?
When cultural opinions clash with Scripture, what helps you stay anchored in God’s Word instead of drifting toward what feels popular or comfortable? Have you ever noticed your feelings or emotions pushing against truth—Can you provide an example?
Read John 3:36. What stands out to you about how this verse holds both good news and hard truth together, and why do you think Jesus refused to separate the two?
Why do you think Jesus spoke so honestly and often about Hell, even knowing it would be uncomfortable and unpopular to His hearers? What does John 3:16-17 reveal about His love and mission?
Read Revelation 20:14–15. Hell was created for the devil and his demons—but people can end up there too. Knowing Hell’s original purpose (Matthew 25:41), how does that shape the way you see God’s justice, holiness, and patience toward humanity?
How does the truth in 2 Peter 3:9 remind us about God’s grace and love for this world? How should the reality of Hell and the hope of Jesus shape the way we live, love people, and share our faith with compassion and urgency?
Read Romans 5:8–9. How does this truth deepen your understanding of God’s grace and challenge the idea that salvation is something we could ever deserve or earn?
Some people believe in Universalism—the idea that everyone eventually goes to heaven and that a loving God wouldn’t send anyone to hell. What are your thoughts on this belief? What would you say to someone who has this belief?
Feedback is a key part of our Canvas Church culture. We practice sharing feedback by beginning with an affirmation (a positive), offering a clear and constructive statement (a negative), and finishing with encouragement (another positive). Try this approach with your group or with one other person so it becomes a natural and life-giving practice.
