THINK, DISCUSS, LIVE: These questions are great for personal reflection, group discussion, or both. They’re meant to help you grow in your faith, deepen your connection with your Jesus friends, and live it out in the world around you.
Why do you think loneliness is such a big problem in America today? Where do you see it most in your own life or community?
What challenges have you faced when trying to make new friends? Which one is hardest for you?
Read Genesis 2:18. What do you think God noticed about Adam? What does this teach us about our need for relationships?
God lives in relationship (Father, Son, and Holy Spirit). How does being made in His image shape how we see and value relationships?
Read Matthew 22:37–40. Why do you think Jesus says loving others is just as important as loving God? Should those two kinds of love look different? Why or why not?
What does it mean to love your neighbor as yourself? Can you give a few real-life examples?
Read Matthew 7:12. Think of one thing you wish someone would do for you (invite you, encourage you, include you, etc.). What would it look like to do that for someone else this week?
Read John 13:34–35. How is loving others the way Jesus loves us different from just treating people how we want to be treated? What are some simple, practical ways we can love others like Jesus?
Read Romans 13:8. What is one specific way you will choose to love someone this week?
