MESSAGE: Now What?                               Date: 6/15/2025

SERIES: Broken Homes

COMMUNICATOR: Pastor Stephen Masters

CHECKING IN: What’s one moment or experience from your week that really stood out to you, and why do you think it made such an impact?

Share Wins: How have you experienced God’s (insert 1-2 fruit of the Spirit here) this week? Have you seen Him answer a prayer, remind you of His presence, or use you to bless someone? How do you see Jesus working in your life or in the world around you?

THINK, DISCUSS, LIVE: These questions are ideal for personal devotion or group discussions, guiding you to grow spiritually, engage deeply in biblical community, and live out your faith in the world around you.

  1. “Now what?” moments are common in life — times when we reach a goal or big milestone (like a big win or something you prayed for) and aren’t sure what comes next. Have you ever had a moment like that? How did you feel afterward — disappointed, overwhelmed, or maybe surprised in a good way? How did you respond?

  2. Read Exodus 14:11-12; 16:3. Is it ever hard to leave your comfort zone? What things make you want to go back to old habits instead of moving forward?

  3. Galatians 5:1 says to “stay free.” so don’t go back to being stuck. What does living in freedom look like in your life right now? Practically, emotionally, relationally, spiritually?

  4. What do you do when someone in your life isn’t growing or changing like you are? What do you base this evaluation on? How can you show patience and kindness even when it’s hard? What are some specific ways you could come alongside and walk with them?

  5. Looking at real-life challenges of living out healthy boundaries in relationships: Have you ever set a boundary that others didn’t understand or resisted? What helped you stay strong in that decision? What challenges do you face now in those relationships?

  6. Are there things in your life that feel “normal” but aren’t really healthy and might actually be dysfunctional? Read Psalm 139:23-24. In addition to asking God to search your heart, how can you recognize these patterns in your everyday life? What could it look like for you to make a change?

  7. On a scale from 1 to 10, how well do you handle conflict or messy situations in relationships? Why did you choose that number? What’s one thing that could help you grow in this area?

  8. Read Hebrews 2:17a & John 1:14. Jesus was full of grace (kindness) and truth (direct honesty). Which one do you tend to use more? What’s one step you can take this week to show Jesus through grace and truth in a difficult or dysfunctional situation?

  1. What’s one guardrail you could set, (like a boundary, habit, filter, or accountability) that would help you stay close to God and grow healthier in your relationships? Who will you invite to help you with this process?

  1. TAKING NEW GROUND! This week, take new ground by reading, focusing on and applying Psalm 139:23-24. Ask the Holy Spirit to show you anything in your life or in your relationships that need healing or changing. Then, start walking in the freedom, victory and health that God wants to bring into those areas as a result.

THE TRANSFORMATIONAL MODEL: Update your current position within the Canvas Circle, Jesus Friends Circle, and Lost Friends Circle. In what specific ways are you growing more like Jesus, reflecting His love and teachings to others, and drawing closer to the center of the diagram?

INDIVIDUAL AND GROUP PRAYER OPTIONS: “A maturing community is a confessing community—not a church without sin, but a church without secrets.”― Tyler Staton, Praying Like Monks, Living Like Fools: An Invitation to the Wonder and Mystery of Prayer

  1. Praise Sentences: Take a moment to offer short sentence prayers of thanks to God for who He is and what He has done this week. Allow multiple people to pray, even more than once. Then, lift up the needs shared within your group. Finish by thanking Him for hearing your prayers.
  2. Invite Jesus into the challenges you or a loved one are facing right now, trusting in His presence and guidance. As you pray aloud, encourage one another with your words.
  3. Pray for the person on your right, it can be out loud or in silence, if in silence nudge the person next to you letting them know you are done.
  4. Prayer Clusters: Meet in groups of two or three (same gender) to share praises and prayer requests. Pray together and for one another during the week. Let those in your group know you prayed—send a quick text of encouragement.

PRAYER PRACTICE ON YOUR OWN: In every situation—big or small—pause and ask, “God, what do You want me to know?” Then ask, “What do You want me to do?” It could be something simple or something big. Try it this week and see how God shows up! Make sure you tell someone what God is doing in and through you!
