THINK, DISCUSS, LIVE: These questions are great for personal reflection, group discussion, or both. They’re meant to help you grow in your faith, deepen your connection with your Jesus friends, and live it out in the world around you.
Which of these words best describes what you experience most often: stress, worry, or anxiety? Why did you choose that word? What physical, emotional, or mental signs tell you that you’re feeling stressed, worried, or anxious?
Read John 14:27 When you hear the word “peace,” what comes to mind? How is God’s peace different from simply having an easy or problem-free life?
Discuss the things or areas where people often look for peace. How are these things a counterfeit to the peace Jesus offers, and why do they ultimately fail to truly satisfy?
Read Philippians 4:4 Discuss some practical ways you can choose to rejoice, even in the middle of difficult circumstances. Share one specific situation where choosing joy could change the way you respond this week.
Read James 1:19. Think about a recent stressful situation. Did you react with fear, or did you respond by trusting God? What could you do differently next time?
Philippians 4:6-7 says to pray about everything instead of worrying. What is one worry you need to hand over to God this week? What is the result when you pray about something instead of worrying about it?
Make a list of the kinds of things that fill your mind each day? Do the thoughts on your list bring you closer to God’s peace or make you more anxious?
Read Philippians 4:8. Which one on Paul’s list do you need to be more intentional thinking about? Discuss your answer.
Read Philippians 4:9. This week, what is one practical step you can take to live in God’s peace instead of letting fear or anxiety control you? How can your group help you take that step?
PRAYER OPTIONS: Practice praying out loud to grow your faith—even if it feels uncomfortable. Try it with people you trust and feel safe with.
Share one thing you are thankful for (a praise) and one thing you need prayer for (a request). Then pray together for each other’s requests.
Prayer Partnership: What’s on your heart that we can partner with you and bring it to the Lord?
Read and put into practice James 5:13-16. Pray for the sick, praise Him for everything, confess your sins, pray for physical, spiritual and emotional healing.
Praise Sentences: Short prayers thanking God, then pray for shared needs.
Prayer Clusters: Groups of 2–3, share requests, pray together, and encourage each other during the week.
