RIGHT IN FRONT OF YOU

Message Series: Do It!  Week# 3

Message: Right In Front of You

Communicator: Pastor Kevin Geer

Big Idea: Embrace the Journey, trust God’s life navigation skills

Central Text/s: Exodus 15:24-26; 16:2-3; Deuteronomy 29:5

Wins and Words of the Week: Take time to share WINS, (what God did) and WORD, (what God shared with you from His word) that moved you and others forward and closer to Jesus.

Ice Breaker: Describe a time when you were very hungry and or thirsty. What were your thoughts, your feelings or attitude? Did you get “hangry”, needed a Snicker’s bar?

Questions to Consider:

  1. What is one situation or event that you celebrated lately. How did you celebrate? Did you do a “happy dance”?
  2. Are you still asking the “what if” question to hear what dream God has for you? How are you positioning yourself to hear the answer?
  3. God shows his love and beauty to us every second of every day.  Share a time when God revealed his faithfulness to you? How did it strengthen your trust in him?
  4. What is one area in your life where you need to be more faithful to God? Be specific.
  5. A God given dream is not solely about the destination, but what he wants to do in us along the journey.  How can you embrace the journey God has you on? How will you keep the destination of your dream in front of you during the journey?
  6. Have you ever chased a dream only to run into a “brick wall?” What was the outcome?  Did you push pause, give up or continue chasing the dream?  Explain.

Digging Deeper:

  1. Obedience is an expression of trust. Where have you recently needed to trust God by acting in obedience? Can you give us an example?
  2. We learned that the number one way God speaks to us is through his word the bible. Share how you spend time in God’s word. E.g. a reading plan, a devotional, random, other? How can we as a group encourage each other to spend time reading and listing to God through his word?
  3. Obedience to the Lord, spending time with the Lord, trusting the Lord, praying to the Lord are all messages we discussed this week.  What would be one “wall” that is preventing you from moving forward in the dream God has for you?
  4. We know that fear can paralyse us from moving forward in the dreams God has for us. How can seeing your life through a lens of hope motivate you to do something beyond yourself? E.g. Serve on a ministry team, schedule time to read the bible, to daily pray for each person in your group.  What would be another example that you come up with?

Questions for Application:

  1. What specific steps will I/We take to live out what we just discussed?
  2. Who can we share this message or truth with? What is their name?
  3. Who are you praying for to know Jesus? What is their name?
  4. Who will I partner with to keep me accountable so I/We can grow?
