Week 6 | Service | Day 5

R E A D

It is often easy for us to cut corners, do things just close enough to the line of “good”  that we feel a sense that our integrity wasn’t tarnished. It is easy for us to drift when we have removed the guardrails of God’s truth that keep us moving forward. Paul provides us with strong reminders of who we are in Christ and how we are to live daily in Colossians 3:17: “And whatever you do or say, do it as a representative of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks through him to God the Father.” Paul later in the chapter “ups the ante” leaving us no other option if we desire to honor Jesus with every aspect of our lives. Colossians 3:23-24: “Work willingly at whatever you do, as though you were working for the Lord rather than for people. Remember that the Lord will give you an inheritance as your reward, and that the Master you are serving is Christ..

  1. How does my life reflect and represent Jesus? How frequently do I give thanks to God?
  2. What is my heart attitude at work, school, or home? Am I a complainer or do I do my work with gratitude as unto the Lord?
  3. What other observations do I have from the text?
  4. Memorize and reflect upon these two passages so they help me grow in serving Christ.
